Goal setting is one of the important factors of a successful life because it’s a pathway to success for anyone who follows it.
I’ve seen a lot of people fail in their personal lives because they couldn’t meet up with what they had planned to do. What’s a house without a plan? And what’s a car without a budget? Have you ever seen yourself in different places at the same time? Yes, it is possible when you have those thoughts in your mind but it isn’t possible if you don’t plan to do it.
There are different reasons why goal setting is important but let’s leverage on these 4.
1. GOALS GIVE YOU FOCUS: This is the first reason why you should set goals. Not just setting goals by saying them out. You should have a journal where you’d write them down too because that way, you can easily go back to it and know what is next, after you might have marked out the tasks you’ve carried out.
2. GOALS HELP YOU OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION: I remember when I was in high school, I always failed at carrying out my daily activities because I always felt like I had the luxury of time to myself. Once there’s a guideline to a process, carrying out the tasks will be so easy.
3. GOALS ALLOW YOU TO MEASURE PROGRESS: Like I stated earlier, once you are done with a task, you’d mark it out in your journal and then be on the lookout for other tasks.
4. GOALS GIVE YOU MOTIVATION: There’s nothing greater than you motivating yourself to be great and to be honest with what you do. A monthly plan serves as a motivation to you. Whenever you feel like giving up, just go back to your plans and pick it up from where you stopped. With that, you won’t want to give up, since you’ve committed yourself to the cause.
Additionally, you should never carry out simple tasks first, start with the tough ones till you get to the simple ones. With that, you won’t loose guard.
Now tell me, do you still find it hard to carry out some tasks! Do you see some tasks as non important because they seem small? Is there something you want to share? Kindly drop it in the comments section. I’ll be waiting patiently.
Thank you.
