The week started out very quietly but it served up very nice drama as the days went by. If you missed the biggest trends in the last few days, then, you are in the right place. Let’s get started.
AFRICAN GIANT vs. OBA-GOAL
News filtered in that Burna Boy and Nigerian footballer, Obefemi Martins had a fight at quilox (A VIP bar in Lagos). CDQ posted about how Oluwa burna disrespected the football super star. The unforgiving gang of jury, judges and executioners on the bird app wasted no time as they dragged Burna boy and compared his chicken change to the millions Oba-goal had made as a footballer. Samlarry settled the beef and the 2 of them were seen chilling in the club again.
PS: OBA-GOAL is RICHER than BURNA BOY…. If you don’t agree, tell us why?
SOWORE The African Man
The corporate Twitter folks were served a shocker as OMOYELE SOWERE turned up in court with a man fully dressed as a herbalist or a jazz man. While some argued that the Attire shouldn’t have been permitted in the court, others were of the opinion that the man had every right to wear his attire. Meanwhile, Sowore was only proactive as the battle with the federal Government is looking like something that needs the intervention of the gods.
WOMEN IN ACTION
Asides Erica, Tacha, Tonto dike and Nengi, A certain woman buzzed on the timeline in the past week. Her name is Tope Omotolani. She became the CEO at Crowdyvest after the former CEO, Mr Onyeka stepped down. Women doing great things, daring to challenge. It is a wonderful sight to behold. You can be whatever you set your mind to become. #ChooseToChallenge
NO WATER OOH
What if i told you that in 2021, a certain state is grappling with shortage of water. Well, some residents of Enugu state decided to say their grievances concerning the terrible state of water supply in the state. How will a man pay N200K for a house and still have to climb down the stairs just to fetch water in another street. In fact, a certain user spoke of how he always had to order water tanker every week. E shock you!!!
CHALLENGES OF THE WEEK
The week was full of cool tasks. While REMA used another called Bounce to start the #BounceChallenge, Ric Hassani gave us the #ThunderFireYou Challenge, Bella Shurmda gave us the #RushChallenge and THEN vs NOW Challenge too over the bird app. So many people jumped on the challenges but the pictures of participants of the THEN vs NOW Challenge were too good to overlook. Apparently, leaving Nigeria is a skin treatment of it’s own. Check out the Hashtag and you will be motivated if you are dreaming of leaving Nigeria.
MEDIA GIST
The Nigerian media space lost one of its veteran and most experienced broadcasters called sodiq Daba and on the international scene, JAY Z sold TIDAL (A Music service provider) to the SQUARES (Owned by the owner of TWITTER, Jack Dorsey). Davido featured in COMING TO AMERICA 2 as he performed his monster Track, “ASSURANCE”. Bruno Mars is coming with new sound and DJ Cuppy is going to Oxford University for her masters(School no be scam oo).
BATTLE OF GOVERNORS
From Yahaya bello of Kogi state to Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and Sanwo olu of Lagos state, the Battle of performing governors vs audio projects featured in the past week. It was massive. The APC boys in Lagos tackled the PDP boys in Oyo state. At the end of the week, Sanwo olu of Lagos state commissioned a bridge at Agege while his counterpart in Oyo state did a good job to showcase his completed projects and the ones that are ongoing. Well, Yahaya Bello is still of the opinion that Covid 19 doesn’t exist.
Be expectant!!!
