DREAMS ARE FOR SLEEPERS, ASK BEZOS.

It was the first time men like Bezos, “masters of the universe” as Matt Stoller quoted, have had to answer questions from informed, powerful people under pressure. With a worried face, he alongside Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Apple CEO Tim Cook were all called to answer questions related to their power, before a subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee regarding antitrust enforcement.

When deciding on the exact statement to start with for this blog post, I chose to be more liberal and tactful about the objective of this content. Kindly note, this is not a motivational note — if you’re looking for one, you can click on the back button but I trust you, you won’t want to.

No objection, you definitely have that specific selfish and dubious dream you’re chasing (dream dey, reality sef dey). Relax, you need to be calming down. Before you’ll curse me for 600 years, I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a lined up dreams; after all, your own spec of dreams might be best chased in your sleep.

Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and others will not tell you, they weren’t expecting this day to come but they weren’t wavered by such unweighed hurdles, so they were consciously prepared. Like I read in a book and paraphrase “the best way to prepare for sudden circumstances, it’s to start preparing.”

“I want to be this, I want to be that” but you are nervously wiggling around to evade those risks and hikes. These characters had to admit a myriad of shady business tactics pulled by them to sustain their dreams. They weren’t ashamed of their decisions since they knew to rule the road, you have to break its rules.

On the first day of this year, you got yourself a new diary and wrote an enormous number of dreams that you want to achieve. This is the 8th month in the same year and you aren’t seeing the brake light of any of the dreams coming to reality. Now, the terrifying question is, “Is it your dream to achieve?”

I know you will say, “don’t leave me”. Fortunately for me, I’ve left since. Jokes apart, never see this pandemic as an asshole hindering the actualization of your dreams. The pandemic can never be the problem because a lot of people have used it to their advantage.

Uncle Sam, revisit those goals again and be sure you are getting the same vibe you had when writing them. If they are not scaring and at the same time pushing you, then quit. You don’t have to be everything in the world, but you can be the only thing the world has been waiting for. In a nutshell, there is still more that can be done if you take charge of your world and see beyond the seen.
